- Have strong teaching skills to instruct students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct high-level research and develop a research program in molecular ecology and evolutionary biology.
- Show potential for developing internal, national, and international collaborations.
- Have the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and complement the expertise of faculty members.
- Proficiency in the French language.

Researchers in the Department of Environmental Sciences focus on the physical, biological, and human dimensions of territories, developing research programs in both fundamental and applied sciences. They specialize in studying watershed-aquatic ecosystem interactions and northern and cold environments.
They have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including wet labs, analytical and molecular laboratories, greenhouse gas analyzers, growth chambers, and greenhouses, as well as the Lampsilis research vessel. Their expertise aligns with institutional (RIVE, GRBV) and inter-university research groups (GRIL, CEN, SEVE, CSBQ).
