MSc position forest ecology and climate change at UBC Forestry

The impact of recent drought and heat events on British Columbia’s forests emphasize the need for evidence-based management options to increase resilience to climate change. In collaboration with the BC Ministry of Forests, you will evaluate the effectiveness of partial cutting systems in mitigating drought and heat impacts in the Opax Mountain Silvicultural Systems Experiment in the southern interior of BC.

The project will start in May 2024 to facilitate field work, and will be jointly supervised by Dr. David Montwé (UBC), and Dr. Felix Oboite (BC Ministry of Forests).
