Tenure-track position in Remote Sensing Applied to Environmental Sciences UQTR. Application deadline: 2 March 2018.

The Département des sciences de l’environnement, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, invites applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor in Remote Sensing Applied to Environmental Sciences, beginning December 1st 2018. We seek an individual with a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field specialised in remote sensing, a relevant postdoctoral research experience, a strong publication record, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent, externally-funded research program and to actively contribute to the development of research in the field of environmental sciences. Many priority axis are related to ecological and watershed studies found in the Research Centre for Watershed – Aquatic Ecosystem Interactions (RIVE). The Département des sciences de l’environnement currently includes 17 faculty members in the fields of Aquatic Ecology and Environmental Geography, and 40 M.Sc./Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows. Fluent French speaking is mandatory but the Department will be supportive of any excellent candidate needing improvement in linguistic skills.
