Joint position in PLANT ECOLOGY in the Department of Biology and the McGill School of Environment, McGill University

Position description

The Department of Biology and the McGill School of Environment invite applications for a joint tenure-track position in Plant Ecology. Appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant Professor. We welcome applications from qualified candidates working within any subfield but are especially interested in candidates whose research clearly links fundamental plant biological processes to environmental issues including, but not limited to, climate change, biodiversity dynamics, ecosystem functioning, ecosystem services, and ecological forecasting. Expertise in plant eco-physiology with the ability to scale up understanding of physiological processes from plants to ecosystems to landscapes would be an asset. Exceptional candidates in other fields relevant to both units may be considered. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an excellent capacity to work in a broadly interdisciplinary context and experience with or a willingness to engage in collaborative teaching. A competitive start-up package, necessary laboratory infrastructure, and access to a range of shared research facilities will be made available.
